Highland Millworks began building cylinder bands in 1992 in a barn behind the home of Joe McGrath. As the founder of Highland, Joe was a visionary who recognized the need for a precision set of bands manufactured to tight tolerances, protecting the diver's manifold. Joe was unwilling to sacrifice quality at any step of the process; from material sourcing to bending and welding, too labeling and packaging. The Highland name became synonymous with quality. Over the years, Joe added other items to the Highland product line, products that complimented his precision cylinder bands.
Sadly, Joe passed away in 2008. Prior to his ultimate passing, Joe sought out XS Scuba to acquire the Highland name and the art of building quality cylinder bands. We were honored that he recognized XS Scuba for our attention to details, quality and innovation.
Taking a page from Joe's book, we have been expanding the Highland product line offering over the past few years. All of the products carrying the Highland name will continue to maintain the tradition of engineering superiority for the discerning technical diver.
